The wet weather has finally hit us here in WA. With wet weather comes wet roads and a whole new range of challenges for those using them. Recently, on my way back to the office I came across the unfortunate event shown in the photo. While I can only guess at what series of events brought this car and its occupants to the situation shown, one thing is certain, the wet road played a part.
In our society there appears to be a need to get places quickly, whether we are under pressure to get the job done, we've left home late or we are just in a rush. Winter is the time to slow down on our roads, take life a little easier, and get to our destination safely. I see too much of the rush on wet roads when I am travelling to/from meetings. It doesn't take much for that little bit of carelessness to end up in an incident and ruin someone's day.
So, during this winter's wet weather, slow down, take it easy, have a second look for that oncoming vehicle in the fog, and arrive at your destination safely.
